Saying goodbye to this blog today
Blessings All,
I started this blog last year to document my next book project. It has been a great place to get my feet wet. However, I recently decided to streamline my online presence by having one blog that encompasses all of my identities as a yoga teacher, author, artist, coach, and innerpreneur. Who are twenty-first century women?
They are a diverse group. They represent all shapes, sizes, colors, ages, sexual orientations, socioeconomic classes, and religions. Many define themselves with identity labels. Several call themselves feminists from the 2nd wave, 3rd wave, and 4th wave. Some walk the earth as womanists. Others prefer to just be who they are without the labels. The two things they have in common are their womanhood and right to choose who they want to be.
What’s Coming in 2010
Look for more news and research about Sisterhood, the Blog: Soundbytes from the 21st Century Women’s Online Revolution (2011) by Ananda Leeke in 2010. Leeke’s new book will share her reflections on what she has personally experienced and witnessed about women’s online experiences since she first logged onto the Internet in 1995. The power of blogging and social media in women’s lives and the connections they make online and offline at meetups and conferences such as BlogHer, Blogging While Brown, Blogalicious, Fem 2.0, She’s Geeky, Latinos in Social Media, and other social media conferences will also be discussed. Excerpts from the Sisterhood, the Blog Wordpress site, Facebook Group, and Talkshoe.com radio show; Leeke’s author and yoga (http://authoranandaleeke.wordpress.com and http://kgyoga.blogspot.com) blogs; and D.C. Social Media Examiner column on Examiner.com (http://www.examiner.com/x-24564-DC-Social-Media-Examiner) will be included. A mini resource guide that will help women begin or enhance their online experiences will be provided at the end of the book. So get ready for previews of the book in 2010. Publication is set for 2011.
Who Created Sisterhood, the Blog?
Yoga + Creativity + Internet Geek = Ananda Leeke (www.anandaleeke.com). Leeke is a lawyer turned “Jill of many trades”: innerpreneur, author, artist, coach, and yoga teacher. Her mission is “Empowering U2BU through creativity coaching, Reiki, self-care, social media, volunteerism, and yoga.” She penned That Which Awakens Me: A Creative Woman’s Poetic Memoir of Self-Discovery (2009 – available on Amazon.com) and her debut novel Love’s Troubadours – Karma: Book One (2007 – available on Amazon.com). Currently, Leeke works as an artist-in-residence for Smith Farm Center for Healing and the Arts. She also serves as the DC Social Media Examiner for Examiner.com. There’s a new feminine frontier where women’s voices emerge from the silence without fear, shame, or judgment.

Their blogs, videos, podcasts, and social networking sites are prime real estate in online neighborhoods that form communities of support.
Their conversations build relationships and bridge gaps.
They make their own news and tell their own stories
The end result is a plethora of networks that serve as launch pads for personal and spiritual empowerment, information sharing, creative expression, healthy living, new friendships, social justice advocacy, career reinvention, and business opportunities.
All of their energy and efforts illustrate one truth: women are standing in their power and reclaiming their sacred feminine on and offline.
They move with a power not seen before.
It is rooted in being fully
P – Present when they
O – Own their lives as
W – Women who believe they have
E – Everything they need to live out their
R – Revolution of authenticity.
One thing is for sure, women know their investment in themselves will yield a high return.
So get on board and join the revolution of Sisterhood, the Blog before it’s too late.
